How to Record Publication Points on Your Log : Use the log titled Professional Publications. Record the date of publication. Indicate the title of the work or the title of the publication. Indicate the type of work (i.e., book, chapter, journal article). Indicate the number of authors or editors, if more than one. To determine points for joint authorship, divide the total number of points for the publication by the number of authors. Indicate the number of pages of the publication. Indicate the number of points earned for the publication in the specific columns, i.e. Oncology (OCN®, AOCN®, AOCNP®, and AOCNS®, Pediatric Oncology (CPON®), General Pediatrics (CPON®). Record the total at the bottom of the log where indicated. Use the reverse side of the form and duplicate if necessary.
Records You Should Keep: Keep a copy of each publication. If your application is selected for audit, you will be required to submit a copy of short publications (e.g., journal articles); for longer publications you will be required to submit a copy of the title page, the page showing the date of publication, and table of contents where your name is listed as an author. Publications that are “in press” will not count for ONC-PRO points. |
